As I understand it, any links made between modules included in an open baseline set are versioned at both ends when that baseline set is closed (both the link in source and the link reference in target point to baselines).
When you make a link between modules that are NOT in an open baseline set, from current to a baseline, the source of that link is versioned but if you follow the target link reference back, it goes to source current. What I’d like to do in DXL is simulate the closing a baseline set, effectively changing the target link reference to point to a source baseline instead of source current.
Does anyone know how to do this in DXL?

How would you propose to start a link from a baselined object when it is set read-only? I would like to see you perform this feat. I would call you the miracle worker.
I guess there is no other way than using a baseline set for this. You can create links to a baseline, but from a baseline will prove difficult. The only thing you could do to NOT loose the information, is to write the source baseline of the links to an attribute by a script before you do the baseline. You cannot use a DXL Attribute for this, since the values of DXL attributes are not baselined (sigh!).
This is an interesting point though: How can IBM/Telelogic provide a baseline feature with the possibility of values in the baseline changing? If you have a DXL attribute that evaluates in-links and you use it to include downwards traceability information in your document, later anyone can draw a link to your baseline and the attribute will change. How stupid is this?
